Background

The Union Square Greenmarket in Manhattan is a year-round farmers' market open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It offers a variety of fresh, locally grown produce, meats, dairy products, and baked goods from vendors in the New York region. Beyond shopping, the Green Market is a lively community hub with cooking demonstrations, tastings, and educational activities.

Problem Overview

Many people shop and explore the Union Square Green Market during the week. How can they know what each store offers and sells? When are they open? Where are specific stores located in the market?




Tackling the Problem

Market Meet is an interactive Union Square Market map set that allows users to navigate the green market while also connecting with vendors on a more personal level, aiming to improve community ties.

Once I had an idea of what I wanted my app to be like, I moved on to design the final screens in Figma. My goal was to create a visual identity that aligned with the brand's values and message of "Simple and Easy." I also followed the iOS Style guide, which emphasizes minimalism and aligns with the brand's message.

The final design of Market Meet addresses the user problem of not having a tool to access all the information on what the Union Square Green Market has to offer. Since I am designing for users with busy schedules, the app needs to be effective and efficient in navigating and communicating with vendors through my persona. Below are the final high-fidelity mockups using Figma.
